Cooperstown, NY April 29, 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A tradition I tried to keep was to make a special trip with each kid when they turned 13 – becoming teenagers. With Russell we were a bit late as he is already 16 when we make this trip, but better late then never.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We made this trip to Cooperstown and the baseball hall of fame taking one of his baseball buddies. It has been a rainly spring but a call to Tom at Cooperstown airport confirmed the grass runway is in “good shape” – more on that later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we were all excited for the trip Russell assumed his normal flying posture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enjoyed smooth air over the very wild and remote Adirondack mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we arrived in Cooperstown the winds were calm so we landed to the south and taxied directly into a parking spot. Fortunately Tom was there and recommended a local cab service – which was actually an Uber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we had gotten a bit of a late start we made it to the Hall with about 4 hours remaining . While this might have been enough time for many families – with two baseball fans we barely had enough time to make a quick pass through the muesum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had prearranged for the Uber\/cab to meet us at closing for the 15 minute drive back to the airport. Chase took to the front seat for the ride home and seemed to enjoy flying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
